Quick and Smart Search with AI (GPT)
The add-on helps shoppers find products, categories, and brands faster, while helping the store work smoothly with a large catalog and less manual effort. It shows search results directly in the dropdown, supports several search scenarios, and can expand the keyword list with AI.

How it works
The add-on indexes the catalog into a search cache and uses it for fast storefront suggestions. When AI generation is enabled, it enriches products with search words, and when vendor article support is available it adds another search scenario. This helps customers find products even with short or incomplete queries.

Addon installation
Install and enable the addon in the standard way through “Administration → Add-ons”. After installation, open the addon settings and review the main display and search parameters.
Basic configuration
It is recommended to configure the following settings first:
- Which elements should be shown in quick search results: product code, price, category, add-to-cart, compare and wishlist buttons.
- How many products, categories and brands should be shown in the quick search dropdown.
- Thumbnail size and search box style.
- Search mode: full phrase search or separate word search.
- Whether search should include product description, features, brands and brand description.
- Minimum number of characters before search starts and request timeout.
- Whether product variations should be merged into one result.
Adding the block to the storefront
Open “Design → Layouts” and add the quick search block to the required storefront area. After adding the block, choose the preferred search field behavior: default, on hover or on click.
Building the search cache
The addon requires a search cache to work correctly. Open “Administration → Add-ons → Search cache” and run cache generation manually or configure a cron job for regular updates.
The cache should be rebuilt after major catalog changes, after changing search logic, after enabling variation merging, and after updates that expand the list of searchable fields.
AI keyword generation
The addon can generate additional search keywords for products. This can be done for a single product from the product page or in bulk from the search cache page. During bulk generation, the addon shows progress and sends notifications in the admin panel.
Vendor article search
If the store uses the unique product codes addon and a product has the vendor article field filled in, quick search will also find the product by that value. After enabling this scenario or after updating the addon, rebuild the search cache.
How to test the addon
After configuration, test the search on the storefront in several scenarios:
- By product name.
- By product code.
- By vendor article, if this field is used in the store.
- By category, brand and product features.
- By a single word and by a full phrase to compare the selected search mode.
If the search does not find a product
First, make sure the search cache has been created and is up to date. Then check the selected search areas, minimum character count and search mode. If you are testing vendor article search, make sure the field is filled in for the product and the cache has been rebuilt afterwards.
