New orders

The add-on automatically refreshes the order list in the administration panel, highlights recently placed orders, and helps staff notice them sooner.

What it is for

When a store is busy, new orders may arrive while a manager is already viewing the order list. The add-on refreshes that list periodically without a manual page reload, highlights recent orders, and can play a sound notification.

How it works

Instructions for the New orders add-on

What the add-on does

The add-on automatically refreshes the order list in the administration panel, highlights recently created orders, and can play a sound notification when new orders appear.

Where to find the add-on

The settings are available under Add-ons → Downloaded add-ons → New orders.

How to configure it

  1. Set the order list Update interval in minutes.
  2. Set the Highlight duration — the number of minutes during which an order is treated as new.
  3. Select the New order background color.
  4. If needed, upload an audio file in the Music file field.
  5. Enable Play sound notification if managers should receive an audible alert.
  6. Save the changes.

How to verify the result

  1. Open Orders → View orders in the administration panel.
  2. Place a test order in the storefront or wait for a new order.
  3. Do not refresh the page manually; wait for the configured update interval.
  4. Make sure the new order appears in the list and is highlighted with the selected color.
  5. If sound notifications are enabled and an audio file is uploaded, make sure the browser plays the sound. If necessary, allow sound playback for the site in the browser settings.
  6. Verify that the highlight disappears after the configured duration.
