Multiple root administrators
The add-on lets you grant root privileges to several store administrators and allows each of them to work through a separate account.
What it is for
In the standard configuration, root privileges belong to a single administrator account. The add-on lets you grant the same privileges to other administrators, so several responsible employees can perform administrative operations from their own accounts.

How it works
An administrator profile contains the “MS: Multiple root administrators” block with the “Give root privileges” checkbox. When the profile is saved, the add-on writes the selected value to the user's root flag. For the primary administrator with user ID 1, the checkbox is always selected and cannot be changed.

Instructions for “Multiple root administrators”
What the add-on does
The add-on lets you grant root privileges to multiple administrators. It adds a dedicated block with the “Give root privileges” checkbox to an administrator profile and stores the selected value in the user's root flag.
Where to find the add-on
Root privileges are managed in the administration panel under Administration → Users → Manage users, in the profile of a user whose account type is “Administrator”.
How to grant root privileges
- Go to Administration → Users → Manage users.
- Open the required administrator profile.
- Find the MS: Multiple root administrators block.
- Select Give root privileges.
- Save the changes.
How to revoke root privileges
- Open the administrator profile.
- Clear the Give root privileges checkbox.
- Save the changes.
For the primary administrator with user ID 1, the checkbox is always selected and disabled, so their root privileges cannot be revoked.
How to check the result
- Grant root privileges to a test administrator and save the profile.
- Open the profile again and make sure that Give root privileges remains selected.
- Sign in to the administration panel with this account and verify access to the expected root administrator functions.
- If necessary, revoke the privileges, save the profile, and make sure that the checkbox is cleared.
