Instructions for Additional Services

What the add-on does

The add-on adds extra services at checkout so customers can choose them together with products. These services can include gift wrapping, parcel insurance, urgent processing, extra product inspection, an extended warranty, and other service options.

Where to find it

• Marketing → Additional services — the service list, creation, editing, bulk update, and deletion.
• Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Additional Services → Settings — the main checkout display type setting.
• Checkout — where customers see available services and choose the ones they need.
• Order details — where the manager can see the saved additional services.

How to configure it

1. Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Additional Services → Settings.
2. Choose the Display type:
   • radio — only one service can be selected;
   • checkbox — several services can be selected at once.
3. Go to Marketing → Additional services.
4. Add a service and fill in its parameters.
5. Save the record and repeat the steps for other services if needed.

How to fill in a service

• Name — the text customers see at checkout.
• Description — a short explanation of what the service includes.
• Price — the amount added to the order when the service is selected.
• Status — whether the service is active. Only active services are shown on the storefront.
• Position — the order in which the service appears in the list.
• User groups — which customer groups can see the service.
• Shipping methods — which shipping options make the service visible.
• Categories — which carts with products from selected categories can use the service.
• Products — which specific products make the service available.

If several restrictions are filled in at once, they are applied together. The service appears only when the current order matches all the selected conditions.

How the add-on works

1. The customer builds a cart and goes to checkout.
2. The add-on checks the products in the cart, the selected shipping, and the customer groups.
3. Then it builds a list of services that match the configured conditions.
4. The customer selects one service or several if checkbox mode is enabled.
5. The selected services are added to the order total.
6. The chosen services are stored in the order so the manager can see them later.

If radio mode is enabled, the customer can select only one service. In checkbox mode, several services can be selected at once.

How to check it

1. Create a test service, for example “Gift wrapping”.
2. Set the price and, if needed, add restrictions by products, categories, shipping, or user groups.
3. Go to the storefront and add a matching product to the cart.
4. Open checkout and make sure the service appears in the list.
5. Select the service and verify that the order total changes.
6. Place a test order and confirm that the selected services were saved in the order data.
7. Open the order details and check that the saved additional services are visible to the manager.

What to keep in mind

• If a service is not shown, first check its status and restrictions by products, categories, shipping, and user groups.
• If radio mode is selected, the customer cannot choose multiple services at once.
• If the service is visible but the total does not change, make sure the service price is greater than zero.
• The add-on works in ULTIMATE and MULTIVENDOR.
