Installation and setup

The add-on adds additional services to the checkout step so that customers can select them together with products. The cost of selected services is automatically added to the order total.

Installation

1. Upload the add-on files to the addons directory of your store.
2. Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons.
3. Find the “Additional Services” add-on and click Install.
4. After installation, make sure the add-on is enabled.

During installation, the add-on creates service tables and descriptions, and adds an order field for storing selected services.

Main add-on setting

Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Additional Services → Settings.

The add-on has one main setting:

• Display type: defines how the customer selects services at checkout.
  • Radio group: the customer can select only one service from the list.
  • Group of checkboxes: the customer can select multiple services at once.

Where to manage services

The service list is located in Marketing → Additional services.

There you can:

• create new services;
• edit existing ones;
• change their display order;
• update or delete services in bulk.

How to create a service

1. Open Marketing → Additional services.
2. Click Add service.
3. Fill in the main service parameters.
4. Save the record.

What each important service field means

• Name: the service name shown to the customer at checkout.
• Description: explanation of what is included in the service.
• Price: the amount that is added to the order when the service is selected.
• Status: whether the service is active. Only active services are shown on the storefront.
• Position: the order of service display in the list.
• User groups: limits the service to selected customer groups.
• Shipping methods: the service is shown only when the specified shipping methods are selected.
• Categories: the service is shown when the cart contains products from selected categories.
• Products: the service is shown only for selected specific products.

How display conditions work

The add-on prepares the service list at checkout based on the current cart. If a service has several restrictions set at once, they work together. This means the service is shown only when the order simultaneously matches the selected user groups, shipping methods, products, and categories.

What happens at checkout

1. The customer proceeds to checkout.
2. The add-on detects cart contents, selected shipping, and user group.
3. Based on this data, it builds the list of available additional services.
4. The customer selects one or several services depending on the display type.
5. The cost of selected services is added to the order total.
6. The selected services are saved in the order for further processing.

How to test

1. Create a test service, for example “Gift wrapping”.
2. Set the price and, if needed, configure restrictions by shipping, products, or categories.
3. Go to the storefront and add a matching product to the cart.
4. Open checkout and make sure the service appears in the list.
5. Select the service and verify that the total order amount increases.
6. Place a test order and check that the selected services were saved in the order data.

Good to know

• If a service is not displayed, first check its status and restrictions by products, categories, shipping, and user groups.
• If Radio group mode is selected, the customer cannot choose multiple services at once.
• If the service is visible but the total does not change, make sure the service price is greater than zero.
