SEO URLs helps turn Russian product names into clean Latin SEO-friendly URLs and keep store links consistent. The add-on extends the standard CS-Cart SEO add-on: it defines Cyrillic transliteration rules, applies them when SEO names are created, and can bulk update product URLs with 301 redirects.
What it is for
The add-on is useful for stores where products, categories, and other entities are named in Russian while URLs should stay readable in Latin characters. It helps avoid inconsistent transliteration, keeps URL formatting predictable, and safely updates existing SEO names without losing visitors from old links.
Key features
Configurable transliteration table for lowercase and uppercase Russian letters.
Automatic name-to-SEO-name conversion through the standard CS-Cart SEO mechanism.
Bulk product SEO-name update from a dedicated admin page.
Automatic 301 redirect creation when product links are changed in bulk.
Operation within the current storefront and selected language, so the administrator controls the update scope.
Compatibility with CS-Cart Ultimate and Multi-Vendor when the standard SEO add-on is enabled.
How it works
The add-on uses the character mapping from its settings: Russian letters are replaced with Latin equivalents, extra characters are removed, and spaces or separators are converted into a clean SEO-name format. When CS-Cart generates an SEO name, the add-on applies its own conversion rule.
For existing products, the admin panel gets a separate bulk update tool. It recalculates product SEO names for the selected storefront and language, saves the new URLs, and creates redirects from old links to the new ones.

Instructions for SEO URLs
What the add-on does
SEO URLs extends the standard CS-Cart SEO add-on and changes how SEO names are generated. Instead of relying only on the default processing of Russian names, it uses a configurable transliteration table: each lowercase and uppercase Russian letter can be replaced with the required Latin value.
The add-on works in two scenarios: when an SEO name is created or updated through the standard CS-Cart SEO mechanism, and when an administrator runs a manual bulk update for product SEO names from a dedicated admin page.
During a bulk update, the add-on recalculates product SEO names from product names and enables 301 redirects from old URLs to new ones.
Where to find the add-on
Add-on settings: Add-ons → Manage add-ons → SEO URLs.
The transliteration table is split into two settings sections: Lowercase for Russian lowercase letters and Uppercase for Russian uppercase letters.
The bulk update tool is available under Website → SEO → MS: SEO.
Configuring transliteration
Check the values for Russian letters in the add-on settings. The default mapping uses common Latin equivalents, for example ж → zh, ч → ch, ш → sh, ю → yu, я → ya.
If your store uses a different URL style, change the required values. An empty value means that the character will be removed from the SEO name during conversion.
After the transliteration table is changed, new SEO names will be generated using the updated rules. Existing links are not changed automatically; use the manual bulk update for them.
Bulk updating product SEO names
Open Website → SEO → MS: SEO. The page shows an action for products in the current storefront and selected language.
Click the product update link. The add-on will recalculate product SEO names from product names, save the new values, and add 301 redirects from old SEO URLs to the new ones. After completion, the page displays the number of changed links and created redirects.
Before running a bulk update, test the transliteration rules on a test storefront or a small product set. The bulk action changes product SEO names, so it should be used deliberately, especially on stores with already indexed pages.
How it works in practice
The add-on depends on the standard CS-Cart SEO add-on.
The bulk update works with products from the current storefront and the current admin language.
Product variations are not recalculated as separate records.
During the bulk update, the add-on enables 301 redirect creation so old URLs lead to the new ones.
For categories, pages, and other entities, the add-on affects SEO-name generation through the common CS-Cart SEO mechanism, but the dedicated bulk recalculation interface is provided for products.
How to check the result
Open the add-on settings and make sure the transliteration table contains the required values.
Create or edit a product with a Russian name and check the generated SEO name.
If needed, open Website → SEO → MS: SEO and run the bulk product update.
Check that the product URL is now Latin and follows the transliteration rules.
If the product had an old SEO URL, open it in a browser and make sure it redirects to the new URL.
