Instructions for Fixes for CommerceML

What the add-on does

The add-on supplements the standard CommerceML exchange. It distributes imported prices across storefronts and preserves product feature variants and values that the standard processing may skip.

The add-on does not create a separate import section. Its settings are applied automatically during the next CommerceML product exchange.

Where to find the add-on

Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Fixes for commerceml addon → Settings.

The settings page contains the Prices and Features groups and a table of service records for imports.

Before configuration

If storefronts must use different prices, check the standard CommerceML price type mappings for each storefront. The add-on uses these mappings when it distributes base, list, and user group prices.

For the first check, select one product whose prices and features can be compared easily before and after the exchange.

Price settings

Prices for all storefronts

• Enabled — after an import, the add-on updates product prices on other storefronts.
• Disabled — prices are processed by the standard CommerceML workflow without additional distribution.

Same prices for all storefronts

This setting is used only when Prices for all storefronts is enabled.

• Enabled — the imported set of prices is copied to every storefront.
• Disabled — each storefront receives values according to its CommerceML price type mappings.

Save the settings before the next exchange.

Product feature settings

Import feature variants and values

Keep this setting enabled so the add-on can preserve values received from CommerceML and restore them when the standard processing skips them. The setting is enabled by default.

Import variants and values of hidden features

Enable this setting when the exchange must include features with the Hidden status. The setting is enabled by default.

Create feature variants

Enable this setting when missing variants should be created automatically. Creation is supported for Select-type features. Numeric and other feature types receive values in the CommerceML format. The setting is disabled by default.

Import service records

The add-on settings display CommerceML file data and current statuses. The table refreshes automatically.

• To remove one record, click Clear note in its row.
• To remove all displayed records, click Clean notes.

Clearing a record removes only the service entry for import progress. It does not revert product changes.

How to check the result

1. Record the current price of a test product on every storefront.
2. Record one regular feature value and, if needed, one hidden feature value.
3. Configure the pricing mode and product feature settings.
4. Run the standard CommerceML exchange for the test product.
5. Check prices on every storefront. In the identical-price mode, the values must match; in the mapping mode, they must follow the configured price types.
6. Open the product and check its imported feature values.
7. If variant creation is allowed, confirm that the new Select-type variant was created and assigned to the product.
8. Return to the add-on settings and check the service status of the exchange file.

Troubleshooting

Prices changed on only one storefront

Check Prices for all storefronts. If identical prices are disabled, also verify the CommerceML price type mappings for the other storefronts.

A product feature value is missing

Check Import feature variants and values. A hidden feature also requires the separate hidden-feature setting.

A new feature variant was not created

Check Create feature variants and the feature type. Automatic variant creation is available only for Select-type features.

A service record remains in the table

Check the CommerceML exchange status first. After diagnostics, remove the individual record or clear the entire list.
